"Home of the Blues"

We got in at 1:00am this morning to Memphis, Tennessee on our way to Nashville to take our son Josh to college. Memphis is the home of the blues and I have to say we are feeling a little bit blue taking Josh to college but we are also a little bit excited for him. Chris and I are on the road right now driving the Penske truck we rented for Josh’s belongings and we are right in the middle of Tennessee.

Driving long stretches on the freeway for hours gives you a chance to really think about and evaluate your life. Every couple of months Chris and I have to stop and sit down and evaluate how we are spending our time because our time is our life and we have to constantly make adjustments and make sure we are doing the things that are the most important. On a trip like this it’s real easy to see what’s most important. When I look back on what I have done over the past eighteen years I realize nothing is more important than the time I have spent with my kids and wife.

When was the last time you really stopped and evaluated and examined the way you’re spending your time; your life. Spend some time this week to write down two or three things your spending time doing that you really need to cut out of your life. Don’t make a to-do list; make a never-do list.
